Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of Crime-Eye, including the website, interactive crime map, area comparisons, rankings, saved-place alerts, AI safety insights, subscriptions and purchased search credits. By creating an account or using Crime-Eye, you agree to these terms.
2. Who may use Crime-Eye
You must be at least 13 years old. You must provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
3. Crime data and safety information
Crime-Eye presents public police data and calculated density or safety scores. Reports may be delayed, incomplete, anonymised or assigned to approximate locations. Scores, rankings, heatmaps and comparisons are estimates intended for general information only.
Crime-Eye does not guarantee that any place is safe or unsafe and must not be used as a substitute for official police information, emergency services, professional advice or your own judgement. In an emergency in the UK, call 999.
Crime trend charts and saved-place alerts depend on the availability and publication timing of third-party Police data. An alert may be delayed, unavailable or based on revised data.
4. AI-generated content
AI safety insights may contain mistakes or omissions. They are generated from the question, selected location and available crime statistics. You should independently verify important information and must not rely on AI output as legal, financial, medical or personal safety advice.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Crime-Eye unlawfully, fraudulently or to harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- attempt to identify individuals from anonymised crime information;
- interfere with the service, bypass usage limits or access accounts or systems without permission;
- scrape, copy or commercially redistribute substantial parts of the service without permission; or
- submit malicious code or content that infringes another person's rights.
6. Subscriptions and credits
Prices and included features are shown before purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscription renewals, cancellation timing and any applicable refund rights are shown during checkout and in your billing portal. Purchased credits are linked to your account, have no cash value and may only be used within Crime-Eye.
7. Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, suspend or withdraw features where reasonably necessary. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Third-party data and services may change or become unavailable without our control.
8. Intellectual property and licences
Crime-Eye's design, software and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. UK police data from data.police.uk remains subject to the Open Government Licence v3.0 and relevant source attribution. International statistics and city incident feeds remain subject to the terms and attribution requirements of their official source providers. Third-party maps, brands and services remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Crime-Eye is not responsible for decisions made solely from map data, calculated scores or AI output, or for loss caused by third-party services or events outside our reasonable control.
10. Ending your use
You may stop using Crime-Eye at any time. We may restrict or close an account that materially breaches these terms, threatens the service or other users, or must be restricted by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Crime-Eye changes. The latest version and effective date will be published here. Where a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify users.
12. Contact and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
